How we use your information. What we share. And the choices you can make.
This page combines our website Privacy Policy with controls for optional website uses and advertising sharing. You can read the full notice below or manage your preferences first.
Last updated: 25 October 2026 · Website, shop, marketing & customer support
01 / Website preferences
Choose what you allow.
Manage optional cookies and similar technologies on this storefront. These choices apply to this browser and device; they do not unsubscribe you from emails or change your TagOS account.
Essential services remain active. Functions needed for security, your basket, checkout and remembering your privacy choices cannot be switched off here.
Existing saved consent is shown when available. If no choice has been saved, the boxes start unticked. Changes take effect when you select a button below.
Loading website privacy controls…
Your browser is sending a Global Privacy Control signal. Advertising cannot be enabled using these controls while that signal is on. See the cookie and advertising section of the notice below for how browser signals apply.
You can return and change your choices. Clearing cookies or using another browser may require you to choose again. These controls cover services connected to the website's consent system; contact us if you need help with other data uses.
02 / Data sharing
Opt out of advertising sharing.
Website activity and identifiers may be shared with advertising partners to personalise or measure advertising. Some privacy laws call this a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even when no money changes hands.
The button below records an opt-out of sale or sharing for advertising and turns off advertising consent for this browser. It leaves your analytics and preference choices unchanged. “Reject all optional uses” above switches those off too.
Your saved sharing choice will appear here.
For a request concerning your account, other devices or information already held about you, email us about data sharing. Opening the email link does not send a request; please send the draft from your email app.
Does opting out stop every kind of sharing?
No. Information may still need to be processed by providers supporting payments, hosting, order fulfilment, security or customer support, or disclosed where legally required. An advertising opt-out does not cancel an order, erase existing records or remove copies already held by others. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
03 / Email preferences
A quieter inbox.
To stop promotional emails, select the unsubscribe link in any marketing email from Tagore. You can also email us to object to direct marketing, including related profiling. You do not need to give a reason.
Please send the draft using your subscribed address, or tell us which address to remove. Necessary service messages, such as receipts, security notices and responses to your requests, are separate from marketing. We may retain a minimal suppression record to honour your opt-out.
04 / TagOS & Authorship Passport
Questions about your writing?
Manuscripts and records of the writing process need their own privacy choices. The website controls on this page do not switch off Authorship Passport recording, delete manuscripts, revoke shared reports, or change any AI, research or product-improvement settings in TagOS.
To ask what is collected, where it is stored, who can access it, whether it is used for AI training, or to request a change, contact us with the email address you use for TagOS and the feature concerned.
You do not need to attach your manuscript, password or identity documents to your initial request. If deleting process records would affect an authorship report, ask us to explain the implications before proceeding.
05 / Your rights
Ask. Correct. Withdraw.
Access, correct or delete
Depending on applicable law, you can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or a portable copy.
Object or withdraw consent
You can withdraw consent for processing that relies on it. You may also be entitled to object to or restrict other processing. Withdrawal does not make earlier consent-based processing unlawful.
Some rights have legal exceptions. For example, certain transaction records may need to be retained. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity where needed, and will explain any limits that apply to your request.
We respond within the time required by applicable law, normally one month for UK data-rights requests. If a permitted extension is needed, we will explain why. Exercising your rights will not result in unlawful discrimination.
You can raise a concern with us or complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority. Where applicable, you may ask us to review a decision on your request.
06 / The full website privacy notice
Privacy, in plain English.
This notice explains the personal information used when you browse writetagore.com, join a waiting list, reserve or buy a product, receive our marketing, or contact us. The choices and rights explained above form part of this notice.
Scope of this notice. This is the notice for our website, shop, marketing and customer-support activities. It does not describe the full processing of manuscripts, keystroke histories or AI interactions within TagOS. The TagOS section above explains how to raise those requests; website cookie controls do not change those service settings.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Sonzaikan Ltd, trading as Write Tagore (“Tagore”, “we”, “us”), is the controller of the personal information we use for the activities covered by this notice. This means we decide why and how that information is used, except where another organisation acts as a controller for its own purposes, as explained below.
Contact us at hello@writetagore.com or write to Sonzaikan Ltd / Write Tagore, 82 High Street, Golborne, Warrington WA3 3DA, United Kingdom.
Visiting our website or reading this notice does not by itself give consent to optional tracking or marketing. Where we ask for consent, you can make a separate choice and withdraw it later.
2. What information do we collect, and where does it come from?
The information involved depends on what you do:
Contact information: your name, email address, telephone number and billing or delivery address when you provide them.
Reservations and transactions: products selected, basket activity, orders, deposits, payment status, delivery details, refunds and correspondence about your purchase.
Payment information: the information needed by the checkout and payment providers to process your payment, plus transaction confirmations and payment details made available to us. Do not send payment-card information by email.
Store account information: account identifiers, sign-in or verification information, order history and preferences where you use an account.
Messages and feedback: what you include in enquiries, support requests, reviews, surveys or other communications.
Device and website information: IP address, browser and device information, identifiers, pages viewed, referral sources and website interactions, subject to applicable privacy choices.
Marketing and privacy preferences: subscriptions, consent and opt-out records, campaign interactions where collected lawfully, and information needed to honour your choices.
Inferences: interests inferred from relevant shopping or browsing activity where that use is permitted.
Information comes from you directly, from your browser or device, and from providers supporting our shop, payments, communications, delivery, security or advertising. Providers may supply payment confirmations, delivery updates, campaign information or fraud indicators relevant to those services.
Some details are needed to fulfil a transaction or answer a request. For example, without payment and delivery information we may be unable to complete an order. Optional website tracking and promotional subscriptions are separate choices.
3. Why do we use information, and on what basis?
For processing subject to UK or European data-protection law, we use the applicable lawful basis for each purpose. We do not treat consent as a blanket permission for all uses.
Our main website and customer-service uses
Purpose
Information involved
Lawful basis
Handle reservations, orders, payments, delivery, refunds and necessary service messages.
Contact, transaction, payment and correspondence details.
Performance of a contract, or steps you ask us to take before entering one; legal obligation where relevant.
Answer enquiries and provide support.
Your contact details, message and relevant order or account information.
Contract where the request concerns the service we provide to you; otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and resolving issues.
Operate and protect the website, prevent fraud and investigate misuse.
Technical, account, transaction and security information.
Our legitimate interests in maintaining a reliable service and protecting customers and the business; legal obligation where applicable. Consent is obtained for technologies where required.
Send requested promotional updates, including launch news.
Contact details, subscription preferences and relevant campaign information.
Consent where required. Where a permitted existing-customer marketing exception applies, our legitimate interest in promoting relevant products, with an opt-out when details are collected and in each message.
Run optional website analytics, personalisation, advertising and campaign measurement.
Device identifiers, browsing activity, preferences and relevant transaction or campaign events.
Consent where required for optional technologies and associated processing. Other permitted measurement relies on our legitimate interests in understanding and improving the shop, subject to applicable law and objections.
Maintain financial records, comply with lawful requests, handle legal claims and fulfil privacy obligations.
Relevant transaction, contact, consent and correspondence records.
Legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims and recording compliance where no specific legal obligation applies.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the purpose, whether the processing is necessary, and its effect on your rights and reasonable expectations. You can object as explained in Your rights. An objection to direct marketing, including profiling for that purpose, does not require a reason.
Advertising or fraud-prevention tools may use automated analysis, such as grouping visitors by interests or identifying unusual transactions. If an automated outcome affects your order, contact us to request an explanation and review. Any processing that involves solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects requires the additional information and safeguards applicable to it.
4. Who may receive your information?
Information is disclosed where relevant to the purposes above, including to:
Shopify and payment providers for operating the shop, checkout, payments, account functions and related security.
Email and communications providers, including Brevo, for subscriptions, messages and managing communication preferences.
Hosting, IT, support and security providers that operate or maintain the systems used for these activities.
Fulfilment and delivery providers where needed to deliver an order or handle a return.
Analytics and advertising partners, including Meta where its advertising integration is used, for the measurement or advertising described here, subject to the relevant privacy choices and legal requirements.
Professional advisers, authorities and other relevant parties where necessary for advice, legal obligations, fraud prevention, disputes or protecting rights.
Parties to a business reorganisation, investment or sale where disclosure is necessary and lawful, with appropriate protections for personal information.
Recipients you ask us to share with or authorise through a particular interaction.
Providers acting on our instructions are required to process information under appropriate contractual terms. Some organisations, including certain payment, platform and advertising providers, also use information as controllers under their own privacy notices. An advertising opt-out does not prevent necessary sharing for an order, security or a legal obligation.
For details of the providers relevant to your interaction, or to make a broader sharing request, contact hello@writetagore.com.
5. Shopify’s role
Our shop is hosted on Shopify. Information about visits and transactions is processed through its platform to provide the storefront and related services.
Shopify may also process information for its own purposes under its consumer privacy notice. Where Shopify enhanced services are enabled, these may use information from interactions with our shop alongside information from other merchants or services, for example for fraud prevention or advertising features. The applicable processing depends on the services used, location and privacy choices.
You can read Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy or visit Shopify’s Privacy Portal to exercise rights relating to processing for which Shopify is responsible. You can still contact us about information for which Tagore is responsible.
6. Cookies, advertising and browser signals
Cookies, pixels and similar technologies can support essential website functions, remember preferences, measure visits or enable advertising. The website controls above let you record choices for optional categories. Essential functions, such as checkout security and storing privacy choices, remain available.
Where the law requires prior consent, optional technologies must not be used before that consent is given. You can withdraw your consent by changing your selections and saving them, or by selecting “Reject all optional uses”. Withdrawal affects future processing based on consent; it does not make earlier processing unlawful.
Sharing browsing activity or identifiers for personalised advertising can be treated as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under some privacy laws, even without a cash payment. The advertising-sharing opt-out records your request for this browser. It does not by itself remove historical information or unsubscribe your email address.
Where applicable law requires it, a recognised Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out request for the browser or device sending it. Shopify may associate that request with an account where it can identify one. The controls on this page do not enable advertising while a Global Privacy Control signal is detected. Other “Do Not Track” signals are not treated as equivalent to Global Privacy Control.
Browser choices may not carry over to other browsers or devices. Clearing cookies may remove saved choices. You can also use browser settings to manage stored cookies, although blocking essential cookies can affect checkout or sign-in.
See Shopify’s Cookie Policy for information about its cookies. That list is not a complete inventory of every third-party technology on our website. Contact us for information about a particular provider or data use.
7. International transfers
Some providers operate internationally, so personal information may be processed outside the UK or your country of residence, including in countries where a provider or its subprocessors operate. Protections in those countries may differ from those where you live.
Where a transfer is restricted under UK or European data-protection law, the applicable transfer requirements must be met. Depending on the destination and provider, this may involve an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any necessary supplementary measures.
Contact hello@writetagore.com for information about the destinations and safeguards relevant to your data, and how to obtain a copy of applicable safeguards, subject to permitted redactions.
8. How long do we keep information?
We retain personal information for the purposes for which it is needed, taking account of the type of record, any ongoing service or dispute, legal duties and applicable claim periods. Different records have different retention needs:
Orders, payments and refunds: for fulfilment and customer support, and afterwards where needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims.
Enquiries and support: for resolving the issue and a proportionate follow-up period, taking account of any continuing dispute or legal requirement.
Marketing subscriptions: while the subscription and relevant lawful basis remain current. An opt-out may require a minimal suppression record to avoid contacting you again.
Consent and privacy requests: for the period necessary to evidence and honour the request and meet compliance or legal needs.
Technical, analytics and security records: for the period needed for their stated operational, measurement or security purpose, taking account of provider settings and any incident investigation.
When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Where deletion is required, backup copies may remain until overwritten through the applicable backup cycle, with their use restricted in the meantime. A deletion request can be subject to lawful retention exceptions; we will explain any exception relevant to your request.
You can ask us for the retention period or criteria applicable to a particular record. Withdrawing marketing consent does not cancel an order or automatically delete transaction records.
9. Keeping information secure
We use organisational and technical measures appropriate to the information and risks involved, including access restrictions and security arrangements with the providers supporting our services. No online service or method of transmission can guarantee complete security.
Protect your account credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card details, manuscripts or identity documents with an initial privacy enquiry. If further verification is necessary, we will explain what is needed and how to provide it.
10. Children’s information
The website and shop covered by this notice are intended for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through these activities. A parent or guardian who believes a child has supplied information can contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
This statement concerns the website and shop covered here. It does not establish the rules for any separate educational or institutional use of TagOS.
11. Other websites and public information
Links to other services, including crowdfunding platforms and social networks, take you to organisations with their own privacy practices. Read their notices before providing information. This notice does not govern their independent processing.
Information you choose to publish in reviews, social posts or other public spaces may be visible to others and copied beyond our control. Sharing a link to another service does not mean we control that service’s handling of your information.
12. Your requests, rights and complaints
The rights section above explains access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent. Which rights apply depends on the law, the processing and any relevant exceptions.
You can object to direct marketing at any time, including profiling for that purpose. Use an email unsubscribe link or contact us. For an objection to processing based on legitimate interests, explain your particular circumstances so that we can assess the request.
You do not need an account, a particular form or legal terminology to make a request. We may need proportionate verification before disclosing or deleting personal information. An authorised representative may act for you, subject to appropriate confirmation of their authority.
Requests are normally handled without charge. Where law permits a fee or refusal, we will explain the reason. We will respond within the applicable deadline and explain any lawful extension. Where applicable, you can ask us to review or appeal a decision.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. However, if information is necessary to provide a service, deleting it or restricting its use may mean we can no longer provide that particular service; we will explain relevant consequences.
If you have a concern, contact us at hello@writetagore.com. You can also complain directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or the relevant authority where you live. You do not have to wait for us to resolve your concern before contacting an authority.
13. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services, data uses or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where a change requires further notice or a new consent choice, we will provide it as required before relying on that change.
If you would like this notice in another accessible format, or need help understanding how it applies to you, please contact us using the details below.
A person at the other end
Let’s keep it simple.
